Protect yourself from Covid-19 & Flu this winter

Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Programme – Autumn/Winter 2025

We’re pleased to confirm that we will be offering both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations at the practice for patients who are eligible, this autumn and winter. We are strongly encouraging all eligible patients to take up the offer of these vaccines.

While there are a number of alternative providers, such as local pharmacies, who also offer flu vaccinations and COVID-19 vaccinations too, it really does support us as your local practice if you choose to attend your appointment here. Your visit also gives you the opportunity to use our POD to check and record your blood pressure, height, and weight - an easy and valuable way to stay on top of your health.

In recent years, we’ve seen a noticeable decline in attendance at the practice for vaccinations. If uptake continues to fall, we may be unable to continue offering the service in future years.

Please look out for your vaccination invitation and booking link when it arrives, and do help us to help you stay well this winter by attending your appointment at the surgery.

Why should I have the flu vaccine?

The flu vaccine helps protect against flu, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness. It's offered on the NHS every year in autumn or early winter to people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu.

Who should have the flu vaccine?

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

  • are aged 65 or over or
  • have certain long-term health conditions or
  • are pregnant or
  • live in a care home or
  • are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance or
  • live with someone who has a weakened immune system.

Who should have the Covid-19 vaccine?

  • are aged 75 or over (including those who will be 75 by 17 June 2025) or
  • are aged 6 months to 74 years and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment or
  • live in a care home for older adults.
